3IS is an international non-profit organization
that provides information management services to humanitarian and development organizations, enabling partners to make informed decisions that ultimately deliver high-quality, targeted assistance to the world’s most vulnerable populations. 3IS transforms data into information and creates knowledge for decision-makers operating in conflict, disaster, post-disaster, and recovery environments, as well as other complex emergency and development contexts.
Context:
Colombia continues to face persistent dynamics of internal displacement, with significant impacts on urban areas like Tumaco, where high influxes of recently displaced people in vulnerable conditions are being recorded. These dynamics have highlighted limitations in the institutional capacity to provide a timely, comprehensive, and sustainable humanitarian response.
In this context, critical gaps are identified related to the availability and use of information for decision-making, the coordination between humanitarian actors and authorities, and the response capacity in key sectors such as protection, humanitarian assistance and accommodation.
This action is part of initiatives aimed at strengthening information management and evidence-based decision-making, promoting better coordination and a more efficient response to humanitarian crises. It also seeks to integrate immediate humanitarian assistance with the strengthening of institutional capacities at the local and national levels.
Leveraging its experience in humanitarian coordination mechanisms, 3iS seeks to strengthen and empower humanitarian partners, enabling them to optimize tools, technologies, and best practices in information management to respond more effectively to crises.
