About the Role
We are seeking a Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Coordinator to join the second phase of the multi-country, multi-agency humanitarian initiative: Joining Forces for Food Security and Child Protection in Emergencies (JF-FS&CPiE).
This project brings together six leading child rights organizations—ChildFund, Plan International, Save the Children, SOS Children’s Villages, Terre des Hommes, and World Vision—to address child protection and food security in emergency contexts across five countries: Bangladesh, Burkina Faso, Central African Republic, South Sudan, and Ethiopia.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and guidance on gender-sensitive and inclusive MEAL activities across all project countries.
- Ensure quality and consistency in monitoring, evaluation, reporting, and learning processes.
- Coordinate with consortium members, implementing partners, and Plan International offices globally.
- Lead the development and implementation of MEAL systems and tools.
- Oversee baseline, midterm, and final evaluations.
- Support knowledge management, documentation of best practices, and lessons learned.
- Strengthen MEAL capacity of project teams and implementing partners.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in MEAL for large-scale, multi-country humanitarian projects.
- Fluency in French and English essential
- Strong background in child protection programming and MEAL in emergency contexts.
- Familiarity with international humanitarian standards (SPHERE, Red Cross/NGO Code of Conduct).
- Experience working with displaced populations and vulnerable communities.
- Knowledge of ethical principles and safeguarding standards in MEAL involving children.
- Expertise in participatory assessments, especially with children and youth.
- Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis.
- Database management and statistical software skills (e.g., SPSS).
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation abilities.
- Ability to work cross-culturally and collaboratively.
- Strong writing skills for reports and concept papers.
- Capacity building and coaching skills.
