JOB DESCRIPTION

The MEAL Junior Officer provides critical operational and technical support to the HQ MEAL function. The role focuses on day-to-day data management, maintenance of organizational dashboards, and delivering first-level technical assistance to country offices regarding data collection tools and routine database troubleshooting.

The collaboration will start in August 2026.

The MEAL Junior Officer reports to the MEAL Senior Officer. S/he will collaborate with the MEAL Regional Advisor(s), the MEAL functions appointed at Country level or programme Teams.

The MEAL Junior Officer’s activities may be carried out from CESVI HQ or remotely (from home). The position is expected to involve approximately 50% of working time on missions to CESVI’s countries of operation. CESVI reserves the right to request participation in periodic in-person meetings, training sessions, or other work-related events at its Bergamo and/or Milan offices, depending on the actual needs arising from the assigned activities and the coordination requirements with the MEAL&TA Manager.

Main Responsibilities

  • Data Management & Consolidation: Support the aggregation, cleaning, and consolidation of MEAL-related data from various country programs for organization-wide reporting.
  • Dashboard Maintenance: Help build and maintain data visualization dashboards (Excel, Power BI) to track global project indicators and achievements.
  • Operational Support: Assist country teams in setting up basic digital data collection forms (KoBo Toolbox, ODK) and troubleshooting database issues.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Review routine country-level M&E reports for data completeness and consistency,.
  • Training Assistance: Assist the Senior MEAL Officer and the MEAL&TA Manager in preparing training materials, resources, and webinars for field staff capacity building

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Social Sciences, International Relations, or a related field.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience (including internships) in data management, monitoring, or evaluation roles, preferably within the non-profit sector.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data cleaning and analysis).
  • Familiarity or practical experience with mobile data collection tools (specifically KoBo Toolbox or similar tools).
  • Basic understanding of the Project Cycle Management (PCM) framework and logical frameworks.
  • Availability for frequent travel and field missions.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to facilitate a collaborative environment among colleagues
  • High attention to detail and strong analytical mindset.
  • Professional proficiency in English (written and spoken).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Self-motivated, able to take the initiative and resilient
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, ability to follow procedures, meet deadlines.
  • Second language (Italian, French, Spanish, or Arabic) is highly desirable.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Contract duration: from August to 31 December 2026, with possibility of extension
  • Salary range: € 2.200 – € 2.400 gross per month

Such assessment is done by the Occupational Doctor of the Organisation, who will also examine the vaccination coverage.
