Media in Cooperation and Transition (MiCT) is a non-profit organisation delivering expert media services in complex and challenging contexts with passion, precision and agility. Through our collaborative work with our partners, we foster transparent, inclusive and fair dialogue supporting resilient societies that thrive.
Across three continents and 15 countries, MiCT facilitates the training of journalists and media producers, programme and content development, radio and film production, magazine and book publishing, media research and monitoring, in addition to supporting the financial viability of our partners.
2. The Program
MHPSS expert(s) are expected to support the MiCT Critical Voices Fellowship, which is aimed at media professionals from conflict and crisis regions who share a common value in their professional journalistic integrity. The program is currently focused on journalists and media makers from across the globe.
3. Description of the role
To support Fellows who face immediate psychological trauma and mental health issues, MiCT is looking for MHPSS experts to provide digital, ad-hoc psychosocial support sessions online to journalists and associated staff members.
Individuals covering one, or multiple, of the above mentioned languages are eligible to apply. MiCT reserves the right to employ one or multiple PSS providers in each individual language. Contracts will run from September 2026 until June 2027 on a freelance, ad-hoc, needs basis. No minimum number of hours can be assured.
4. Application Requirements
Successful applicants should be able to provide proof of the following:
- Proven psychosocial counselling qualifications and experience in digital counselling in language(s) of application
- In-depth knowledge of trauma related support preferred
- Experience working with journalists and people in active crisis and conflict regions preferred
- Working knowledge of English is required.
