About us
INARA provides life-altering medical care and reconstructive surgery for children (0-18 years) who have injuries due to war, blasts, or unsafe living conditions, and are unable to access or afford treatment. INARA’s work consists of filling the gap in access to free-of-charge medical and surgical treatment. INARA also supports ongoing cases with medication, medical equipment (such as prosthetics, eyeglasses, glass eyes, and hearing aids), laboratory and diagnostic testing, transportation, accommodation prior/postsurgery, and other therapeutic regimens (speech therapy, physiotherapy, and psychotherapy). In addition, INARA provides psychiatric and psychological therapy services to children in need through its in-house mental health program.
Role Summary
The MHPSS Officer in Gaziantep will play a pivotal role in delivering tailored support to children and families affected by crises. This involves conducting detailed assessments to understand each case’s unique needs, crafting personalized care plans, and closely coordinating with multiple service providers. The officer will ensure these plans are executed effectively, adapting strategies as necessary to address the evolving needs of those served.
Key Responsibilities:
●Prepare and conduct awareness sessions on mental disorders caused by trauma
● Prepare and conduct family therapeutic activities.
● Ability to intervene in crisis with mild to severe mental health cases
● Conduct psychological first aid and train volunteers on it.
● Train Volunteers to identify, detect and refer mental health cases.
● Prepare and Conduct psychosocial support sessions for different groups of communities
● Ability to detect, and refer to child protection cases in emergency situations.
● Identify and refer cases and ensure action points are carried out within the agreed timeframe.
● Provide evaluation of individual needs when needed in order for proper referrals to be made
● Assist in planning and implementation of assessments and surveys as required.
● Coordinate with the psychologists, MHPSS team, and other dispatched teams to ensure efficient communication– reporting information back to the Line Manager
● Submit weekly and monthly reports concerning implemented activities, case observation and identification, referrals, and related challenges.
● Maintain files, computer databases, and records in soft and hard copies.
Job Requirements:
● University degree in clinical psychology or social work with experience in the mental health field.
● Trainings: PFA, MHPSS in emergency, Safe Identification and Referral
● Demonstrate a high level of disaster sensitivity, professionalism, respect, empathy, and objectivity when dealing with the beneficiaries.
● Fluent in Arabic language and Turkish
● Good knowledge of the English language
● Good knowledge of Microsoft Office
● Previous working experience with children and adolescents
● Previous work with NGOs is a plus
● Turkish Citizenship
