Purpose of the Position
The MHPSS Officer will be responsible for the planning, implementation, and monitoring of psychosocial support activities in Raqqa. The position aims to ensure the quality, relevance, and effectiveness of MHPSS interventions in line with international standards and community priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the implementation of individual and group psychosocial support activities, ensuring they meet beneficiaries’ needs.
- Plan and deliver awareness sessions and community-based psychosocial activities.
- Provide technical support and training for facilitators and community volunteers on MHPSS methodologies.
- Follow up on cases with special needs and ensure proper referral to specialized services (internal and external).
- Contribute to monthly work plans, activity reports, and technical documentation.
- Coordinate closely with protection, health, education teams, and local stakeholders to ensure integrated programming.
- Uphold MRD’s safeguarding, confidentiality, and non-discrimination policies in all activities.
Qualifications
- University degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in MHPSS programming with humanitarian or community organizations.
- Strong knowledge of MHPSS principles, needs assessments, and intervention tools.
- Ability to work with vulnerable groups including women, children, and trauma survivors.
- Familiarity with humanitarian standards (Sphere, IASC MHPSS guidelines and Istanbul Protocol).
Skills and Competencies
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Good reporting and data collection skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Flexibility and readiness to work in field locations under challenging circumstances.
- Arabic Required.
