Context
In West Africa, information manipulation and foreign interference (IMI/FII), state propaganda, and local disinformation pose a growing threat to social cohesion and public trust. Media in Cooperation and Transition (MiCT) gGmbH, in collaboration with international and local partners, is implementing the project “Prebunking West Africa: Early Detection and Countering Disinformation, IMI, and Disinformation in Benin, Togo, and Guinea-Bissau,” funded by the German Federal Foreign Office (Division 607). This project establishes a proactive prebunking system designed to identify manipulative narratives early and neutralize them before they go viral.
Mission objective
The Moderator (“Young Talent”) will serve as the on-screen protagonist and a recognizable, accessible, and trustworthy public figure for the project’s short-form video campaign. Based in the target country, they will host weekly videos, engage with social media audiences, and demystify complex disinformation tactics in an accessible way.
Main responsibilities
- On-screen presenter: be the recurring face and voice of weekly 60-90 second videos posted on TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube.
- Public education and communication: presenting factual findings, explaining psychological and digital manipulation techniques, and debunking viral false narratives in an accessible and non-confrontational style.
- Interaction with the public and community engagement: fostering constructive online dialogue by responding to comments and feedback from the public across all social networks.
- Collaborative scriptwriting: working in partnership with the media producer and disinformation experts to translate fact-checking fact sheets into compelling oral scripts.
- Training and capacity building: participate in specialized onboarding sessions covering on-camera performance, digital storytelling, and audience engagement strategies.

Required qualifications
- Strong on-screen presence, charismatic communication skills and high credibility with young people.
- Prior experience as a presenter, content creator, journalist or public speaker on digital platforms.
- Ability to present sensitive social and political topics with neutrality and clarity.
- Proficiency in French and relevant national and local languages.
