RECRUITMENT CONTEXT
As part of the implementation of the 2030 roadmap, we are looking for a One Health Referent (M/F).
THE POSITION
As a One Health Expert, you will contribute to the strategic positioning of the Mérieux Foundation on issues related to the interactions between human, animal, and environmental health. You will develop the Foundation’s expertise on these topics, promote their integration into programs and projects, strengthen strategic partnerships, and contribute to identifying funding opportunities. You will support teams in the design, implementation, monitoring, and promotion of actions carried out within a One Health and Climate-Health approach.
In this context, you will primarily be entrusted with the following activities/responsibilities:
Define and propose a positioning for the Mérieux Foundation in the field of One Health (including climate/health)
- Define the main key concepts
- Analyze the needs in the countries where the Mérieux Foundation intervenes and in resource-limited countries in general;
- To propose a positioning for the Mérieux Foundation in accordance with its mission, its history and the current and future challenges on the theme, in a cross-cutting manner with the different areas of the Foundation;
- Clarify what differentiates the Mérieux Foundation and its potential added value on the subject.
Map the main donors and operational actors on these 2 topics
- Identify the main donors and stakeholders on these 2 topics;
- Create a short profile for each of them and suggest which partnerships could be developed.
Establish strategic non-financial partnerships to publicly confirm the Foundation’s position on the subject (after validation by management)
- Engage with recognized international organizations in this field
- Engage with key national entities of the ministerial type
- Engage with partner stakeholders
Creating and responding to opportunities with donors and partners
- Establish a relationship of trust with key partners and succeed in joining projects and/or consortia on the subject
- Leading the technical response to opportunities, alone or in a consortium
- Supporting project development by integrating One Health expertise and Climate Health expertise across the board
- Propose One Health indicators linked to the SERA for projects
Participate in the technical monitoring of projects related to the theme
- In conjunction with project managers, monitor the various activities related to either One Health or climate change.
- Advise project managers, as needed, on the proper conduct of activities related to One Health and climate change.
Capitalize and increase value
- Working with SERA and project managers to compile the various indicators related to the themes
- Promoting externally in connection with SERA and communication
- Capitalizing internally on failures (lessons learned) and successes in order to participate in the continuous improvement of activities and projects in the field of One Health and climate change
YOUR PROFILE
- You are sensitive to global public health issues;
- You have completed a DVM or PhD course, additional training in OH, are an agricultural engineer, and have several years of experience in human, animal and/or environmental health, development aid projects as well as in facilitating institutional and scientific partnerships.
- You enjoy working in project mode and evolving in a multicultural environment;
- You have mastered the One Health approach in Global Health and the interactions between health, climate and environment, have a good knowledge of the actors, donors and international development financing mechanisms, and the ability to analyze strategic issues and define an institutional positioning.
- You demonstrate strong cross-functional collaboration, writing, analytical, and synthesis skills. You exhibit scientific rigor and are recognized as diplomatic, a team builder, and agile. Your English (spoken and written) must be fluent!

COMPENSATION ELEMENTS:
- A basic gross salary spread over 12 months, awarded according to the level of experience.
- A 13th month bonus paid in November and a holiday bonus paid in June.
- A performance-based bonus paid in March.
- Restaurant vouchers with a face value of €10, 55% of which is covered by the Foundation.
- Access to a company savings plan, as well as a retirement savings plan which can be supplemented by the Foundation.
- The benefit of an employee + children health insurance plan and a supplementary pension scheme.
WORKING HOURS AND CONDITIONS:
- 216-day package.
- 12 days of non-working days for a full year in addition to the 25 days of paid leave.
- Possibility of working remotely up to 2 days per week after a one-month integration period
