Position Title: Sr Accounting Associate (Travel)

Duty station: Global Shared Services Centre (GSSC)

Type of Appointment: One year fixed-term with possibility of extension

Salary: Php 1,025,043.00 per annum net of taxes

Context

Under direct supervision of the GSSC Accounting Supervisor – Travel Claims, and under the overall supervision of Chief, GSSC Finance Hub, the successful candidate will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the processing of travel claims across assigned regions . The Specialist ensures compliance with IOM Travel Rules and Regulations, provides guidance to assistants, and acts as the focal point for regional offices on travel claims and related financial matters.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Education

  • University degree in Finance, Accounting or relevant field from an accredited academic institution, with four (4) years of relevant professional experience, preferably in the field of accounting or finance, audit experience would be an advantage; or
  • School diploma with six (6) years of relevant experience.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent is an advantage

Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.

EXPERIENCE

  • Strong knowledge of accounting systems, Oracle plus generally accepted accounting principles, internal controls and audit/review procedures.
  • Supervisory experience in finance or accounting functions
  • Experience in international organizations or shared service centers preferred.
  • Audit experience is an advantage.

SKILLS

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong supervisory and mentoring abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and financial systems.
  • Knowledge of IOM Travel Policies and Regulations.
