MSF is operating in the context of a major humanitarian crisis in Ituri, marked by persistent armed violence, massive population displacement, and limited access to healthcare. The MSF mission in the DRC includes several projects in the Ituri and Tshopo provinces (Bunia, Drodro, Angumu, KERE/Kisangani, Goma, and Adi), with approximately 470 national and 61 international staff.
As part of the strengthening of its humanitarian operations in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Médecins Sans Frontières Switzerland is looking for an experienced Supply Chain Coordinator to manage and optimize all of the mission’s supply activities.
This position involves sensitive responsibilities in a complex environment, where issues related to security, integrity, and independence can generate external pressures. To ensure the neutrality and protection of the incumbent, we are looking for candidates with an international profile.

Job Description (but not limited to):
- Under the direct supervision of the Head of Mission and in functional collaboration with the Supply and Logistics Referents at headquarters, the Supply Chain Coordinator is responsible for
- Design, implement and ensure the smooth running of a responsive, agile and efficient supply chain;
- Define and apply the mission’s procurement strategy, in line with MSF protocols and standards;
- Supervise, support and strengthen the supply teams at the coordination and project level (approximately 28 people: 26 national staff, 2 international);
- Ensure compliance, quality and security of purchasing, import/export, storage and distribution of goods;
- Advise the Head of Mission and collaborate with the medical, logistics and pharmaceutical departments to anticipate and respond to operational needs. Regularly implement standard (fundamental) controls and specific controls, ensuring that controls are documented and archived (all controls must be traced otherwise they are useless).
- Regularly reports the results of the various monitoring activities to the Head of Mission on the progress and level of control of the mission’s key risks. He or she does the same with the Head of Internal Control at Headquarters (ICRM) for advice, support and continuous improvement.
- Define, implement and re-evaluate the mission’s procurement strategy in line with operational priorities.
- Ensure the implementation and monitoring of purchasing, import, storage and distribution procedures in accordance with MSF-CH standards.
- Oversee requirements planning, inventory management and quality control of supply data.
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks by developing a mitigation strategy.
- Support the recruitment, training, supervision and evaluation of staff under direct and indirect supervision.
- Ensure a good flow of communication between teams (coordination, projects, medical, logistics and pharmaceutical departments).
- Collaborate with other MSF sections present in the DRC to pool supply actions.
- Ensure compliance of activities with MSF HR, financial and operational policies.
- Conduct regular visits to projects to ensure ongoing technical and strategic support.
- Oversee the monitoring of international cargo, import licenses and customs procedures (in conjunction with the MSF intersection office in Kinshasa).
- Actively participate in the response to humanitarian emergencies and the rapid establishment of the necessary logistical arrangements.
Your profile:
Requirements:
- Education : Master’s or university degree in logistics, supply chain management, international business, engineering, or equivalent discipline.
- Experience : Two years of prior experience in supply coordination or position with equivalent responsibilities (e.g. Supply Coordinator) with MSF or other NGO.
- Experience in managing multicultural teams and in complex or unstable environments (conflicts, emergency contexts).
- Languages : Fluent French essential; English desirable (proficiency in other languages is an asset)
- Technical skills: Proficiency in IT tools (Excel, Word, Internet) and logistics management software (ERP, Unifield or equivalent).
- Excellent understanding of purchasing, storage, transportation and distribution processes.
- Strong skills in planning, performance monitoring and data source analysis.
- Interpersonal skills: Collaborative leadership and a sense of skill development.
- Ability to work strategically while remaining operational.
- Diplomacy, communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders (headquarters, coordination, projects, local authorities, suppliers).

Conditions of Employment:
- Field-based, fixed-term contract of one year, renewable.
- Duration of direct field interventions: from 4 weeks to 3 months (a certain flexibility is required if necessary).
- Travel expenses and visa requirements will be covered by MSF.
