The Venezuelan Red Cross (CRV) is a humanitarian organization whose mandate is to save lives and improve the lives of people in vulnerable situations. As part of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, it provides timely assistance in emergencies, disasters, and contexts of humanitarian need.

How can you make a difference? Key Duties/Responsibilities
The Protection and Reference Assistant will have the primary responsibility of providing support in the work to be carried out by the Local Coordinator and Protection Officer.
He/she will be in charge of:
- Follow up on medical referrals made by the branch’s medical team.
- Raise awareness about the scope of the Venezuelan Red Cross’ humanitarian action in the area of ​​human mobility.
- Position the Venezuelan Red Cross’s auxiliary role as a key local player in human mobility issues.
- Strengthen coordination with local government stakeholders on the importance of protecting and promoting the rights of people in mobility.
- Support local initiatives aimed at assisting, protecting, and integrating people on the move.
- Influence public narratives and attitudes about human mobility based on evidence and the principles of the Movement.
- Serve as a spokesperson for coordination and advocacy purposes in previously authorized strategic spaces.
- Supervise the activities carried out at family reunification service points under the guidelines of the protection area.
- Create a local advocacy strategy.
- Prepare periodic and final technical monitoring reports and report to the local Coordinator.
Report
The Protection and Reference Assistant will report to the Local Coordinator, the Protection Officer and the National Project Coordinator.

Maracaibo, San Fernando de Apure, Guasdualito, San Cristobal.
To qualify as a builder of the Venezuelan humanitarian system, you must meet the following requirements:
- Degree in sociology, education, social work, nursing, health promotion, social communication, public health.
- At least 1 year of experience as a health representative, promoter, or advocacy professional. Minimum experience of one (1) year.
- At least one year of experience working with healthcare teams, including physicians and nurses, in implementing medical and community health and safety activities.
- Experience working with the Red Cross/Red Crescent Movement is desirable.
- Excellent communication skills, ability to build relationships at all levels.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
- Capacity and agreement to adhere to the Fundamental Principles of the Red Cross and Red Crescent.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Great sense of responsibility and professional ethics.
