How can you make a difference? Key functions / Responsibilities

The Treasury Assistant’s primary purpose is to provide essential operational and documentary support to the Treasury and Finance department of the Venezuelan Red Cross. This role is fundamental to ensuring efficiency and transparency in the timely issuance of payments to suppliers, staff, and beneficiaries, as well as guaranteeing the proper organization, recording, and filing of all financial documentation and transaction support. Their work directly contributes to maintaining the integrity and compliance with the institution’s financial procedures.


The Accounting Assistant will report to the Project Coordinator and/or the Accounting Coordinator .

Workplace
Caracas (CRV Headquarters).

Functions:

  • Processing, loading and validation of Payment Orders: Receive, review and process payment requests, verifying that they have the necessary approvals and supporting documentation, in accordance with Red Cross policies.
  • Control, together with the parties involved, the complete documentation of each payment issued in the CRV.
  • Issuance and Execution: Assist in the preparation of payments and files for banks, donors, and financial partners.
  • Bank Control: Monitor banking operations (deposits, withdrawals and transfers) and assist in daily and weekly bank reconciliation, identifying and reporting any discrepancies.
  • Collaborate in the CRV’s project closure procedures and financial reports.
  • Support in the processes of review and documentary audits of the CRV.
  • Perform other tasks related to the type of position and those assigned by your immediate superiors, based on the characteristics and special conditions of the position, to provide a quality service.

Responsibilities:

  1. Actively work towards achieving the objectives of the Financial Directorate of the Venezuelan Red Cross.
  2. To comply with and work in accordance with the principles of the Red Cross and Red Crescent.
  3. Perform any other work and responsibilities related to providing financial support to the National Society.
  4. Excellent communication skills, ability to build relationships at all levels.
  5. Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  6. Capacity and agreement to adhere to the Fundamental Principles of the Red Cross and Red Crescent.
  7. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  8. Strong sense of responsibility and professional ethics.
