Venezuela – Drivers At COOPI – International Cooperation

COOPI is looking for two Drivers in Venezuela

Since 2019, COOPI has established a presence in Venezuela to assist the local population following the worsening of the country’s socioeconomic crisis. As of July 2020, it has launched a regional crisis response program that is implemented in consortium with Venezuelan organizations for the protection of vulnerable groups. In recent years, COOPI has expanded its interventions and is currently implementing projects with different donors in Caracas, Lara, Carabobo, Anzoátegui, Sucre, Delta Amacuro and Bolivar in protection (GBV, Child Protection, Human Trafficking and Smuggling), sexual reproductive health, WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene) and school feeding.

Job Objective/Description

COOPI plans to reinforce the project team through two (02) Drivers , in charge of operating the vehicles assigned to the project and transporting both the personnel and the necessary supplies and equipment in the context of the COOPI intervention in Venezuela, state of Sucre. These responsibilities will be carried out in full accordance with the objectives of COOPI, the commitments with the donor, World Food Programme , and the national regulations applicable in the areas of intervention.

Areas of responsibility

Vehicle handling and transportation

  • Drive Project trucks and other vehicles assigned to you for Project field activities;
  • Transport project personnel, visitors and other duly authorized persons, as well as supplies and equipment;
  • Transport and distribute supplies and/or equipment required for field activities;
  • Attend to the daily cleaning and checking of mileage, gasoline, water, oil, battery, tires, brakes, etc. as well as the technical maintenance of the vehicles assigned to you;
  • Maintain control and correct completion of the logbook of the vehicles assigned to you in each work commission.

Security and emergencies

  • Stay up to date with the procedures and rules required in the event of an accident, and also try to train in first aid for emergencies;
  • Drivers are required to comply with and ensure compliance with safety regulations and to use the personal protective equipment required to perform their duties. Likewise, drivers who are responsible for work equipment are required to ensure compliance with the applicable safety regulations.

Administrative support

  • Support in the control of inputs, materials and equipment that enter or leave the project warehouse;
  • Provide support in the processing of documentary procedures.

Additional functions

  • Other functions assigned by the Project Coordinator or his/her hierarchical Manager.

Desired profile

ESSENTIALS

  • Completed secondary;
  • Minimum 10 years of experience as a professional driver;
  • Have a 5th Grade driver’s license;
  • Basic knowledge of automotive mechanics;
  • Willingness to join work teams;
  • Respect and adaptability to cultural diversity, gender, religion, race, nationality, etc.;
  • High responsibility, ethics and transparency in work; commitment to developing quality work and meeting goals or delivering products on time;
  • Act in accordance with COOPI’s rules and procedures when making decisions and performing their work;
  • Outstanding knowledge of the project’s area of ​​influence;
  • Respect for COOPI’s vision and mission and its charter of values;
  • Spanish language required;
  • Immediate availability.

DESIRABLE

  • Previous experience working with NGOs and/or international organizations is desirable;
  • Knowledge of English (valued);
  • Venezuelan nationality or residence permit in the country.
