Mission :

The Department Head/Regional Expert in Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) will be responsible for ensuring the quality, relevance, and technical innovation of the MHPSS strategy and interventions in the intervention area, in accordance with ACF and international standards and national policies. This role will also involve supporting field teams to ensure the quality and technical relevance of ACF’s interventions, particularly the MHPSS component of the RESILAC project.
More specifically, you may be required to:
Monitor and provide contextual technical analysis to headquarters and the RESILAC project;
Contribute to the strategic direction and harmonization of approaches and ensure project management monitoring, advocacy and reporting for the RESILAC Project;
Provide technical support to country offices in the intervention area and to RESILAC country teams;
Promote and evaluate the technical quality of interventions and the accountability of the RESILAC program;
Participate in the human resources management of the professional sector and the RESILAC program and develop the technical expertise of the teams;
Coordinate the identification of needs and the formulation of project proposals;
Ensure ACF’s active participation in national sectoral coordination, technical platforms and develop sectoral partnerships;
Promote capitalization, development, technology and research within the SMSP department;
Guarantee and ensure the confidentiality of data collected during SMSP activities.

Profile :

You hold a Master’s degree (Bac+5) in Clinical Psychology or Psychiatry.
You have at least three years of experience in the humanitarian field, including one year in a coordination role, and possess strong knowledge of humanitarian psychology.
Significant team management experience is essential.
Field experience with ACF is a plus.
Excellent written and spoken French and English are required for this position.

Employment conditions

Fixed-term contract under French law for 6 months.
Starting gross monthly salary of €2,597 to €2,968 depending on experience, including a 13th-month
bonus. Expertise bonus: €200.
Regional bonus: €148.
16% of gross monthly salary as a retirement insurance reimbursement for non-resident French citizens.
Base salary increase: 6% every 12 months of continuous contract.
Monthly per diem and living expenses: €552 net, paid on-site.
Monthly context allowance: €300.
Child allowance: €1,500 per year per child present in the country of origin (capped at €6,000/year).
Transportation and accommodation: Individual accommodation rent and associated rental charges.
Lump-sum allowance of XAF 700,000/month, paid on-site.
Medical coverage: 100% coverage of health insurance contributions and repatriation insurance, and medical expenses for up to one month after departure. End of your contract.
Salary maintenance schemes (sickness, maternity, paternity).
Leave and R&R: 25 days of paid leave per year and 20 R&R days per year; reimbursement of airfare up to a maximum amount to travel to the chosen break zone, and a flat-rate allowance of €215 per R&R day.
