Its objective is to ensure and promote the high-quality and relevant implementation of Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) actions in each of the project’s interventions, with a focus on gender, age, disability, and ethnicity. It guarantees the quality of information collected from counterparts and technical implementation teams, producing reports and conducting regular follow-up.
The main activities you will perform are the following:
Objective 1: Implement and monitor the project’s sexual and reproductive health and maternal health activities, in close coordination with the implementation team
- Works in close cooperation with the project implementation team, across all comprehensive health services and other areas to ensure the relevance of the activities.
- To provide health services directly, with an emphasis on sexual and reproductive health and maternal health, including the provision of basic gynecological consultations and low-risk prenatal care.
- To provide counseling on family planning, promoting autonomy and informed decision-making, and integrating cross-cutting approaches to gender, age, interculturality and disability.
- To ensure the rational and appropriate indication of medical treatment, according to the patient’s clinical condition and in compliance with international and ACH protocols and guidelines.
- To promptly detect people with risk and vulnerability conditions, including high-risk obstetric cases and STIs, providing appropriate guidance and ensuring their referral and timely access to established care pathways.
- Carry out proper and systematic follow-up of the referrals made and promptly report on the identification of obstacles or barriers in the referral route for their resolution.
- Responsible for systematically monitoring the project’s SSR activities and indicators, through the implementation of process and procedure monitoring and control plans, in compliance with technical guidelines, humanitarian standards and the ACH mandate.
- Monitor the sexual and reproductive health situation of vulnerable areas/populations/communities within the project’s coverage area, using primary and external sources (communities, donors, multilateral agencies, government, other NGOs, etc.) and internal sources.
- Accompany and support the periodic review of the functioning of the project’s pharmacy management processes, as well as the consumption of medicines and supplies, alerts/stock shortages and the forecast of purchase or donation.
- Know, promote, implement and follow at all times universal hygiene standards/precautions, prevention of biological hazards and infection control, safety rules and other protocols in medical facilities and ensure that high standards of hygiene are met in your work environment.
OBJECTIVE 2: To contribute to the achievement of the project objectives through quality implementation in sexual and reproductive health and maternal health.
- Ensure quality in the execution of SSR activities of the project, in compliance with international and ACH protocols and guidelines.
- Plan and lead training sessions for health personnel and community promoters on priority topics of sexual and reproductive health (SRH) and maternal health.
- To provide support and mentoring to health personnel in establishments supported by ACH to facilitate the practical and sustained application of protocols and guidelines in SRH and maternal health, in alignment with the policies and protocols of the MPPS.
- To support and guide community awareness activities on priority topics of SRH and maternal health, including SRHR, menstrual hygiene, family planning, importance of prenatal care, warning signs during pregnancy, incorporating the intercultural and differential approach in a cross-cutting manner.
- To promote teamwork, collaboration, coordination and exchange of experiences, ideas, work methodologies and the collective creation of comprehensive strategies.
- Design comprehensive work plans together with the implementation team, with the support of the project manager, that clearly define: the required contributions, the objectives, the expected results, and the goals to be achieved.
- Under the principles of confidentiality and the data protection policy, exchange with the ACH multidisciplinary team the results of assessments, support plans, and needs detected on the ground.
- It promotes Monitoring and Evaluation mechanisms to maintain accurate records (means of verification) and to support them in monitoring and development activities.
- Systematically prepare minutes of meetings, donations and deliveries, reporting them in the NHF space designated for this purpose in order to maintain traceability.
OBJECTIVE 3: Strengthen the external relations of the projects with local actors related to the sectors of interest.
- Keep the mapping of services and institutions up to date to facilitate access to care pathways in SSR and the safe referral of complex cases.
- Establish articulation and coordination with governmental and non-governmental organizations on matters of SSR in conjunction with the Project Manager and/or Base Manager.
Objective 4: Manage knowledge and information about projects and activities.
- Actively participate in the kobo data collection system and ensure the proper collection of information from other means of verification (physical and/or digital, as well as in the analysis of data of interest to the project).
- Ensures the proper management of the care database in the SSR area, respecting ACH guidelines regarding the handling of personal data and Habeas Data.
- Ensure the correct analysis of data from different programs and the consistency of the intervention in accordance with the project strategy.
- Submit reports on activities in SSR and other areas (WASH, FSL, Gender and protection), monthly or as needed, ensuring quality information and presentation in all reports.
- To understand the project’s indicators and activities and to contribute to the monitoring and tracking of those activities.
- Promote and develop systematizations based on field findings, lessons learned, and difficulties related to the activities under your responsibility.
- Participate in the systematization and preparation of health reports according to the need (narrative reports, initial baseline and final community/family/individual baseline) of the activities under your responsibility.

- University studies in gynecology and obstetrics.
- Specific technical knowledge: Experience in implementation, planning and monitoring of primary care programs in Sexual and Reproductive Health.
- Experience and expertise in the implementation of health systems, standards, policies and technical, ethical, administrative, legal and safety procedures of national health authorities.
- Familiar with conflict resolution techniques and community work.
- Ability to work with counterparties and/or partners.
- Preparation of outreach materials and systematization documents. Skills in task planning, fieldwork, and report writing.
- Staff training. Previous experience:
- Desirable experience in promotion and prevention activities in the community setting.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the health field.
- Desirable knowledge of the work context in the state of BolÃvar and its communities.
- Knowledge of the humanitarian sector. Knowledge of ACF is desirable.
- Commitment to understanding the organization and its main areas of action.
- Availability for frequent travel to rural and hard-to-reach areas.
