About Badael
Badael is a rights-based organization founded in 2013 with a mission to foster transformative justice as the basis of a genuine and sustainable peace in Syria. Championing locally owned alternatives, we endeavor to buttress the scope and impact of inclusive grassroots civic action and foment the development of holistic truth and understanding within and around the Syrian context.

Job Summary
The project aims to promote social cohesion in northern and eastern Hama countryside by using agriculture and peacebuilding as a unifying entry point for cooperation among local community components. The approach is based on Training of Trainers (ToT) for a group of male and female facilitators, who will later lead activities designed as serious simulation games, linking agricultural recovery with trust-building, inclusive decision-making, and conflict-sensitive collaboration.

Within this framework, an Agricultural Expert and a Peacebuilding Expert will provide the technical and analytical knowledge needed to develop tailored training materials for local facilitators. The Trainer of Trainers (ToT) will contribute to the preparation of these materials in collaboration with the experts, and then deliver an interactive ToT using them to equip the facilitators with the skills to lead the serious simulation games within the target communities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development of training materials with the Agricultural Expert and Peacebuilding Expert, ensuring clarity, practicality, and adaptation to the local context.
  • Design and deliver an interactive ToT program based on the finalized training materials. The design should include training guides to support the facilitation team in their tasks, and provide them with additional knowledge resources (in cooperation with the experts) to strengthen their training capacities.
  • Train facilitators on facilitation skills, dialogue management, and fostering cooperation among participants.
  • Simplify and explain the agricultural aspects provided by the Agricultural Expert in a way that suits the facilitators’ level.
  • Integrate concepts of social cohesion and peacebuilding provided by the Peacebuilding Expert into exercises and practical applications.
  • Monitor and evaluate facilitators’ engagement during the training and ensure their readiness to apply the materials.
  • Prepare a final report outlining the training process, performance evaluation, and recommendations to enhance facilitators’ effectiveness.

Qualifications:

  • University degree in Education, Social Sciences, Community Development, or any related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of practical experience in designing and delivering trainings, with proven experience in Training of Trainers (ToT) preferred.
  • Knowledge of interactive facilitation methods and managing discussions in context-sensitive environments. Previous experience in serious simulation games is an asset.
  • Ability to collaborate with subject matter experts (Agriculture and Peacebuilding) to translate technical knowledge into practical training materials.
  • Familiarity with the Syrian context in general, and specifically the Hama countryside, is an added advantage.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups.
  • Ability to draft reports in Arabic (English is an added advantage).
