Description of the area to which the service is limited

The Service is subscribed to the Operations Area of ​​the LWF – Colombia Venezuela Program, which is led by the Operations Management and responsible for the coordination, planning, organization, analysis and assurance of an efficient and effective programmatic operation of the LWF/SM COL-VEN and the projects developed, from the higher institutional objectives preserving its mission and vision.

Coordinates its activities with:

  • Field Leader Delta and Sucre (East)
  • Project team in Delta Amacuro and Sucre
  • Administrative, financial, and programmatic team in Venezuela.

Location

Based in Sucre, Venezuela . However, you must be available to travel within the country and/or wherever required to carry out the activities inherent to the Service.

Service objective

Support the coordination of operational implementation and communication with communities of the school-based program in Sucre state. With the team, ensure that activities are carried out on time and with the quality requested by the donor and the LWF.

Description of activities:

MANAGEMENT

  • Prepare a schedule and lead the execution of field activities related to the School-Based Program (SBP), including the formation of school meal teams, distribution plans, and follow-up on take-home baskets.
  • Supervise consulting field staff during school-based program distributions.
  • Guarantees the communication products, materials, prints and stationery necessary for beneficiaries and involved personnel to carry out activities in schools and distributions
  • Prepare a schedule and lead the execution of field activities related to the School-Based Program (SBP), including team formation, distribution planning, and follow-up on take-home baskets.
  • Ensure the design and planning of training sessions to ensure community access to information during field activities within the framework of the program’s objectives in Delta Amacuro.
  • Prepare and submit state reports related to the implementation of the School-Based Program.
  • Support the efficient and effective implementation of the project based on the objectives, results, activities and their indicators, work plan, budget, and procurement plan, taking into account the guidelines and guidance of the LWF VE and the donor, in coordination with the LWF VE core program team.
  • Support the implementation of the school-based program with beneficiary communities, emphasizing humanitarian and transparency principles and adhering to the selection criteria defined in the project.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all stakeholders in the school food program understand how the community feedback mechanism works. Ensures the necessary communication products, materials, printouts, and stationery are available to beneficiaries and staff involved in carrying out activities in schools and distributions.
  • Participate in the work sessions convened by the Caracas Base Office for context analysis, project follow-up and monitoring, and group planning, in accordance with the protocols and manuals of the Lutheran World Federation.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure the effective implementation of the LWF security policy and ensure the implementation of the LWF Codes of Conduct and other institutional policies within the framework of the project.
  • Strictly comply with LWF/SM-CO procedures, manuals, and policies.
  • Ensure proper cash management for travel advances for activities. Complete travel reports that comply with donor requirements and LWF administrative procedures.
  • Ensure proper compliance with the administrative and control procedures applicable to them, within the scope of their activities within the framework of the specific project and FLM policies.
  • Comply with LWF procedures, manuals, and policies, including the Codes of Conduct, Safety and Security Policy, Security Manual, Child Protection, and any other provisions established by the LWF.
    The LWF has zero tolerance for sexual exploitation and abuse, and all staff have a duty to comply with and promote the LWF Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) Policy in the conduct of all activities.

Professional Requirements

Level of Education

  • We are looking for undergraduate students or technicians in the final semesters of their studies in social sciences, political sciences, anthropology, international studies, engineering, and/or related fields.

Work Experience

  • Minimum experience of one (1) year in successful humanitarian project or program activities
  • Desirable experience of one (1) year of successful actions in highly complex projects.
  • Experience with Food Security projects in NGOs and/or international organizations is desirable.
  • Experience in personnel management is desirable.
    Experience working in Sucre is also desirable.

Languages ​​and office automation

  • It is essential that you read, speak, and write Spanish, whether as a native language or with proven advanced fluency.
    You have excellent command of spreadsheets, word processors, the Internet, and office tools.
