Logista/Driver – Caracas, Venezuela At Help in Action

Following the earthquakes that hit the country hard on 24/06/2026, AeA is looking to reinforce its team on the ground to support the activation of an emergency response in the areas most affected by the earthquakes.

Aim:

  • The role of the Logista / Driver is to support the operational implementation of the delivery of urgent humanitarian assistance to the affected locations and populations by providing support to the project team in the processes of purchasing and delivering materials, contracting and negotiating with suppliers and/or service providers, gathering information, logistics, monitoring and administrative follow-up.
  • Among their main responsibilities will also be planning, executing and monitoring the daily flows of transport, distribution and technical control of inventories of the project, ensuring the accuracy of the information and compliance with AeA’s quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, coordinate and supervise the registration, control and continuous updating of inventories of goods required by the project, ensuring the accuracy of the data.
  • Coordinate and implement on-site the technical procedures for the correct reception, storage and dispatch of supplies in distribution areas.
  • Verify, consolidate and file the delivery records, receipt notes and dispatch guides of the supplies sent to the various subsidiaries.
  • Perform and lead the execution of scheduled cycle inventories and issue the corresponding technical reports to identify differences and propose corrective actions.
  • Keep the assigned logistics management systems and the local logistics cluster database (if applicable) updated and regularly updated.
  • Supervise and manage the flow of logistical support documentation, including the validation of physical delivery receipts against invoices, in coordination with the finance area.
  • Document, report and process in a timely manner any incidents, losses or damages that occur during the physical delivery and transport of goods.
  • Provide direct technical support in the training and awareness processes on logistics guidelines and safe use of transport to the project’s volunteers.
  • Perform other logistical tasks assigned by your immediate supervisor to achieve operational objectives in the affected areas.
  • Support the movement of AeA personnel to fulfill assigned security tasks.
  • Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by your immediate supervisor, based on institutional needs.

Requirements

Knowledge and experience:

  • Professional degree in social sciences, administration, engineering or related areas.
  • At least 2 years of active experience in inventory management, transport flows and field logistics processes in cooperation or humanitarian aid projects.
  • Proven experience in the use of computer tools and standardized systems for warehouse management and stock control.
  • Ability to work under pressure on a flexible schedule, independently and within multicultural teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, administrative organization, safeguarding confidentiality and adherence to the Fundamental Principles.

Languages:

  • Essential: Spanish
  • Highly desirable: English.

Geographical mobility:

  • National Based in Caracas
  • Availability to travel within the country.

Other requirements:

  • Windows (Advanced)
  • Knowledge of MEAL tools

Equipment

  • It is highly desirable that you have sufficient equipment to perform your function remotely: laptop and/or computer, good internet connection, among others.

Terms of the offer:

  • Start date: immediate
  • Contract duration: 6 months with the possibility of extension depending on available funding
  • Full-time position: 40 hours per week
  • Work location: Caracas, Venezuela
  • Remuneration/Salary in accordance with the Ayuda en Acción Remuneration Policy.

  • Contact information for people who can provide references for the last three positions held, in order to request professional references related to the functions performed.
  • Valid criminal record certificate (no criminal record).
  • Valid certificate from the Central Register of Sex Offenders and Trafficking in Persons (no criminal record), in case the position involves contact with minors.
