Project Assistants – Caracas, Venezuela At Help in Action

Following the earthquakes that severely struck Venezuela on 24/06/2026, AeA is seeking to reinforce its team on the ground to support the activation of an emergency response in the areas most affected by the earthquakes.

Aim:

Project Assistants will support the operational implementation of the delivery of urgent humanitarian assistance in the affected locations and populations by providing support to the project team in participant registration, information gathering, logistics, monitoring and administrative follow-up.

Responsibilities:

  • The role will have both a technical and practical focus, geared towards the proper implementation of planned emergency response activities. In detail:
  • Support activities related to gathering needs assessments, information, follow-up and monitoring of the flexible and multi-sectoral emergency assistance project, both in person and by telephone.
  • Support the identification, registration, targeting and selection of participants in the intervention areas.
  • Support delivery of food, NFIs, WASH supplies, among others, according to planned activities.
  • Support program staff in the implementation of flexible and multi-sectoral emergency assistance strategies.
  • Support the organization of volunteers for community activities, especially information gathering.
  • Support the organization’s emergency humanitarian aid logistics process.
  • Contribute to monitoring the situation in the target area, including mobility dynamics.
  • Maintain clear communication with community stakeholders, suppliers, and the project team.
  • Assist in logistical and administrative tasks for the daily execution of the program.
  • Support the preparation of inputs for internal and external reports, including donor reports, status reports, and communication products.
  • Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by your immediate supervisor, based on institutional needs.

Knowledge and experience:

  • Professional degree in social sciences, administration, engineering or related areas.
  • Additional training in project management, humanitarian assistance, monitoring or protection.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in social, humanitarian, community or administrative projects.
  • Experience with NGOs, cash transfers, vulnerable populations, or community work.
  • Ability to support clear reports and records.
  • Basic/intermediate database and Excel skills.
  • Experience with data collection programs such as Kobo Collect (highly desirable).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).

Languages:

  • Essential: Spanish
  • Highly desirable: English.

Geographical mobility:

  • National Based in Caracas
  • Availability to travel within the country.

Other requirements:

  • Windows (Advanced)
  • Knowledge of MEAL tools

Equipment

  • It is highly desirable that you have sufficient equipment to perform your function remotely: laptop and/or computer, good internet connection, among others.

Terms of the offer:

  • Start date: immediate
  • Contract duration: 6 months with the possibility of extension depending on available funding

  • Remuneration/Salary in accordance with the Ayuda en Acción Remuneration Policy.

Mandatory requirements to participate in the selection process

  • Contact information for people who can provide references for the last three positions held, in order to request professional references related to the functions performed.
  • Valid criminal record certificate (no criminal record).
  • Valid certificate from the Central Register of Sex Offenders and Trafficking in Persons (no criminal record), in case the position involves contact with minors.
